A. Birshtein's book consists of four sections. The first section, entitled «How it is eaten in Odessa», includes stories written after the publication of the same book. The author with love and humor narrates about his neighbors who cook - and eat.
The second section is called «How do things in Odessa». It contains stories about an intelligent, resourceful person who works... a swindler.
The third section «How to communicate in Odessa». His hero is the Odessa shoemaker and his monologues-dialogues. The hero is an observant and sharp-tongued person, therefore his characteristics are unusual and witty.
In the last, fourth, section «How it is sold in Odessa» included stories about Starokonka - the famous flea market, which at weekends is located at the Starokonny Bazaar.
