Pavlo Sharandak was born in 1919 in Podillya. For 20 years he has been an editor at the Ukrainian Writer publishing house. Member of the Writers' Union of Ukraine. Translated by Mark Twain, G. Green, A. Cronin and others. Sharandak's passion was translations of poetry. Towards the end of his life, G. Longfellow dared to publish only his translation of the Song of Hiawatha. In this edition, his translations of O. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, J. Byron, and others will appear in the court of readers for the first time. As well as the text of his "Military Essays", revised to the 50th anniversary of Victory Day.
