The monograph describes the creative path of the great Czech-French composer, music theorist, teacher, performer, long forgotten, and completely unknown in our country - Antonin Joseph Reich; describes the history of his formation, the creative environment - composers with whom he was friends, with whom he studied and who studied with him.
The work uses the methods of historical-cultural, theoretical and genre-style analysis, which made it possible to highlight the features of the formation of the creative individuality of the Reich. The creativity of the Reich turned out to be like an intermediate link between the creativity of the polyphonists of the Baroque era and subsequent centuries, since the foundations of their thinking were absorbed and the future of the polyphonic musical language of the XX-XXI centuries was largely anticipated. The theoretical works of the Reich professor for many years became the basis of the educational process in the conservatories of Paris and all of Europe.
The polyphonic cycle "36 fugues for piano" is considered - a unique work directed to the future. Analysis of individual samples of the cycle fugues is proposed.
